Who We Are:

GordonEdwards has been in the metals business for over fifty-five years.

He joined Earle M. Jorgensen Steel Company in its Los Angeles office in 1953.  For the past half century, he has come to know almost all aspects of the metals business: manufacturing, cutting, warehousing, transporting, and sales.

After twenty seven years’ service with the EMJ Company, including ten years as general manager of its Phoenix facility, he formed his own metals company.

Gordon knows how to lay hands on almost any type of metals product, no matter how large or small, and can have it delivered to your place of business in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

All of this is delivered with the unsurpassed integrity and conscientiousness that are the hallmarks of Gordon’s business, as his many satisfied customers will attest.  Gordon’s customers also return for his daily joke or interesting piece of trivia – part of the service he provides.   Several of Gordon’s customers have been with him for over fifty years.

A native Californian, Gordon also graduated from UCLA in 1950 prior to serving his country as an army sergeant at Fort Gordon in Georgia, where he trained young recruits for service in Korea.  During that time, he was picked to participate in the experimental deployment of the atomic bomb in Exercise Desert Rock, where Army troops were first exposed to an atomic bomb blast in the desert north of Las Vegas, Nevada.  He is one of the very few eye witnesses alive today

Gordon's
Joke of the Week:

Gordon read in the local newspaper recently that a blonde in Grants Pass was mowing the lawn with a power mower, when her favorite pet cat ran in front her.   The mower severed the cat’s tail from its body.
Distraught, the blonde picked up the cat and its tail, and putting them in a basket, rushed to the local Walmart.
Why Walmart, you ask?
Because, the blonde explained,  just a week ago she had read that Walmart is the leading retailer in Oregon.
